October 14, 2026 (Oxford, Connecticut) – Tradewind Aviation, a leader in private aviation and pioneer of the shared charter concept, is expanding its South Florida-to-Bahamas service with the introduction of new, daily non-stop flights connecting Fort Lauderdale and Nassau. Launching December 10, 2026, Tradewind’s new scheduled service will connect Fort Lauderdale and Nassau, with flights departing from the Sheltair FBO at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and arriving at Odyssey Aviation, located at Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) on New Providence Island.
The new route is being introduced by Tradewind in direct response to strong and growing demand from guests for easier, more convenient and personalized access to the Bahamas. By strengthening its position as a premium alternative to traditional commercial service, Tradewind has expanded its footprint in South Florida and its network in the Bahamas. Across all Tradewind routes, including Fort Lauderdale and Stuart, Florida to Marsh Harbour, North Eleuthera, and Nassau, the company has quadrupled its flight offerings across the region since first launching its Southeast base three years ago.
“The remarkable growth of our scheduled service to the Bahamas has exceeded expectations, demonstrating the significant appetite for a more seamless alternative to commercial air travel,” said David Zipkin, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Tradewind Aviation. “The sustained response has fueled our expansion, with the addition of Fort Lauderdale service to Nassau marking a milestone in the growth of our network. By introducing daily, year-round service we are taking a step forward in matching high demand with the comfort and convenience that set Tradewind apart.”
Reflecting Tradewind Aviation’s award-winning aviation experience, recognized by the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards for six consecutive years, flights between South Florida and the Bahamas operate aboard Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, which provide the highest standard of safety and comfort. The service includes two pilots in the flight deck, pressurized and air-conditioned cabins, leather seating, and complimentary snacks and refreshments. Convenience is also part of the package, with departures from FBO airports rather than traditional commercial airports, enabling travelers to arrive just an hour prior to departure and hand their luggage directly to Tradewind flight crews before boarding with no time-consuming TSA lines.

ABOUT TRADEWIND AVIATION
Tradewind Aviation was founded in 2001 by brothers Eric and David Zipkin, who grew their shared passion for flying into one of the nation’s leading providers of personal air travel, offering both private and scheduled service. Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Tradewind remains guided by a belief that every flight is an opportunity to create an exceptional client experience. Its unique approach to flying is less harrowing than commercial travel and more intimate than traditional private aviation. It is flying personal.
Headquartered in Oxford, Connecticut, Tradewind operates from key bases at Westchester County Airport (NY), Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (Puerto Rico), and Witham Field (Stuart, FL). With a fleet of 36+ Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, Tradewind provides both private and scheduled service to highly sought after destinations in North America and the Caribbean. Scheduled service combines the convenience and comfort of private aviation with the affordability of individual seat pricing.
In the U.S., routes connect the Boston and New York areas with Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, while Caribbean flights operate between San Juan and key island destinations such as St Barths, Anguilla, Virgin Gorda, and Tortola. Scheduled flights from Tradewind’s newest Southeast region include service from Stuart and Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Marsh Harbour, North Eleuthera, and Nassau in the Bahamas.
A recognized leader in sustainable aviation, Tradewind implemented a fully funded carbon offset program into their business model in January 2022. In partnership with 4Air, 100% of flights meet a Level 1 Carbon Neutral rating. As of September 2026, Tradewind is proud to have offset 85,597.29 metric tons of CO₂.
