Unmanned beaches with no lifeguards are generally open to leashed dogs year-round as long as there are no endangered species’ habitats present.
During the summer months, leashed dogs are only allowed on lifeguard beaches before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
Land Bank Dog Park
Nantucket’s first fenced-in dog park opened in 2021 and has since become incredibly popular with locals and visitors. The mid-island Land Bank Dog Park is open year-round from dawn to dusk and has two fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs.
