Luggage Policy for Scheduled Service Flights

Each seated guest may travel with 50lbs/23kg of total luggage weight, inclusive of carry-on sized luggage and personal items.

Personal items that measure 6 inches x 9 inches x 17 inches or less may be taken into the passenger cabin. Items that exceed these dimensions will be loaded into the luggage compartment of the aircraft.

If you would like to bring more than 50lbs, we recommend one of the following two options:

  1. Purchase an additional seat, allowing you to bring an additional 150lbs of luggage.
  2. Consider flying a private charter to give you more flexibility. Contact our team to receive a quote!

Tradewind does not have any luggage fees.

If you arrive at the airport and your luggage is overweight, some luggage may be left behind. Guests are responsible for same-day pickup of excess luggage, as storage is not available at any scheduled service location and unaccompanied luggage transportation is not available.

If the total weight of luggage is within limits but must be left behind for unforeseen weight and balance issues, Tradewind will be responsible for transporting these items to you.

Please call ahead if you plan to transport non-standard items such as golf clubs. Transportation of non-standard items is not guaranteed, but we will make our best efforts to accommodate.

Luggage will only get automatically transferred if you made a single purchase booking through one of our interline partners (United, American, JetBlue) through San Juan or if you purchased our VIP Experience in San Juan. If you do not have an interline booking or VIP Experience, you must collect your luggage after your commercial flight and re-check it in.
